Math Activities

Ramakrishna Math, Midnapore has a beautiful temple with an imposing shrine of Sri Ramakrishna Deva. Daily workship of the deity is conducted there with fortnightly Ramanama Sankirtan. Religious discourses are conducted daily in the temple by monastic members. National religious festivals like Durga Puja, Kalipuja, Janmashtami, Shivaratri, Buddha Prunima, Christmas Eve etc. are celebrated. Hundreds of devotees and friends from even distant place flock together in increasing number to participate in these celebrations. Devotees also come to the Math on Gurupurnima, Bengalee New Years day. The annual birth day (Tithipuja) of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda is celebrated with enthusiasm in the Math premises by the devotees. Valuable discourses are arranged with speakers from this centre as well as from other branches of Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math. The monks also participate in the fortnightly / monthly study circles arranged by devotees outside Math Campus e.g. Midnapore Town, Kharagpur IIT Campus, Prembazar, Kharagpur, Jhargram, Dantan, Sauri & Keshiary.

Annual Congregation of devotees:

An Annual congregation and spiritual retreat of devotees are arranged in the Math premises every year for two days immediately after Durga Puja. Participants from the town (non-resident members) as well as from distant places (resident members) assemble in the Math premises to participate jointly in prayer, mediation, Bhajan, religious discourses etc. The discourses are offered by monastic members of this centre as well as of other centre.
